Nirmal's Review: Darton College - Albany

Everyone here has written of a very real plerbom within the Church, and that is a lack of vigilence by all members to watch for sin in any members so they can take action to stop the sin. This vigilence includes watching the Pastor of the Flock to make sure that he does not fall into sin. We human beings, including pastors and priests and even Pope, are all capable of great sin. Human failing has affected many organizations besides the Church, too, such as businesses (e.g. Enron) and not-for-profits (e.g. Boy Scouts; 2nd Mile Foundation; Penn State). We have made a mistake in the Church and outside the Church by not shining a light on sin as soon as it is discovered. We have wanted to protect the reputation of the sinner and even more so we wanted to protect the reputation of the institution. Rumor of sin indicates a need for much closer vigilence, but committed sin requires action and that action will be painful for the sinner and it may be painful in the short-term for the institution where the sin was either committed or about to be committed. We who are being vigilant must realize that compassion may require that pain be inflicted.
